CARING FOR THE CLEANING SUPPLIES

We love sharing easy hacks for an organized, simple cleaning experience. A clean home can inspire new ideas to beautify it even more!

TIP #1: START FROM THE TOP

To save time start cleaning routines from the top to bottom. This helps avoid cleaning the same area more than once. Thanks to gravity dust and dirt fall from high to low. Start with ceilings, light fixtures, walls, pillars, staircase railings, and windows. Tend to the top surfaces’ areas first. Then move on to the furniture. Such as couches, dining tables and chairs, and decorative items.

TIP #2: THE FLOOR COMES LAST

Complete the higher surfaces first. Then complete the floors all at once. Having a vacuum cleaner makes the job even simpler! Move from room to room until the entire floor area is complete.

TIP #3: DIVIDE AND CONQUER

After cleaning from the top surfaces all the way to the bottom, divide each room of the house into separate parts to clean faster. It also makes sense to clean the nastiest or messiest room first and then go on to the relatively clean rooms to make the process easier. Besides dividing the entire home into two parts for cleaning, each room can also be divided to simplify the process.

TIP #4: LEVERAGE THE DISHWASHER

Expert home cleaners and people who love home cleaning hacks will know that the dishwasher is not just for washing dishes. This amazing appliance cannot just clean your dishes, but it can also be used to clean numerous things that lie around the home.

Reduce Difficult Scrubbing

Things in our bathrooms such as toothbrush holders, soap dishes and the soap dishes in our kitchen always seem to have a lot of grime. Easily add these items into the dishwasher so that all the grime can get cleaned while you are cleaning the rest of your house. This saves a lot of time and effort to avoid difficult scrubbing.

TIP #5: THE MICROWAVE

The stains from food and oils in the microwave can be incredibly difficult to clean. Cleaning a dirty microwave involves a lot of elbow grease and nobody enjoys doing that. To make things easier remove the stands and the oil splatters guards from inside the microwave.

The Microwave Part Deux

Next put a cup of lemon water inside the microwave and turn the microwave on for about 4 to 5 minutes so that steam forms inside the microwave. When your microwave gets filled with steam all the dirty residue stuck on the inside the microwave including grease starts to loosen up. This makes wiping away the grime much easier.

TIP #6: CARING FOR THE CLEANING SUPPLIES

Cleaning supplies are precious. Professional cleaners always have a cleaning routine even for the cleaning supplies. Start by keeping all the heads of the cleaning supplies like the mop heads, scrub heads, and sweeper heads clean by running them under water after each use and provide enough time to dry.

The Support Cast (aka) the Vacuum!

Remember to also maintain the vacuum cleaner by regularly emptying the canister or the trash bag. Remember to occasionally wash the inside of the vacuum cleaning bag, canister, and do not forget to clean the vacuum filter.

TIP #7: STAY ORGANIZED

Everyone loves a happy and organized cleaner. Make sure to keep cleaning tools and gadgets in a single organized place. Smaller tools can be stored in a basket tucked away in a corner. Choose a place they will always be found at any time. This makes it easier to grab at moment’s notice if need.

TIP #8: STORAGE

Always make it easy to grab any of the tools needed when getting ready for a deep clean. Most household cleaning supplies are often tucked away in a place where no one can usually see them. A good Suggestion for a place like this would be right under the kitchen sink, laundry area or storage closet.

SPARE CLEANING SUPPLIES

TIP #9: SPARE CLEANING SUPPLIES

Some of the most important items that the handy organized person would love to keep include microfiber cloths, scrub brushes, furniture spray, glass spray, cleaning gloves, an all-purpose cleaner, old toothbrushes, and large gadgets like a vacuum cleaner.

TIP #10: EX-SQUEEGEE ME?

The squeegee is another unbelievably valuable tool for an effective cleaning routine. This a handy cleaning tool with so many uses. Clean glass like the balcony doors, main doors, and shower doors. Also use them to clean mirrors and any other kinds of glass surfaces. The benefit of using a squeegee is the glass free streaks.

TIP #11: LET THERE BE LIGHT

It’s never a good idea to clean in the dark. With that being said, it’s also not a good idea to clean in the evenings when the sun has gone down, and the home is now filled with artificial light from electrical lighting. It is best to clean in the daytime when there is plenty of sunshine.

TIP #12: LIGHT TO DUST

Make use of daylight. Open all the curtains and blinds to let the sunshine light up the area. This helps to reveal all of the dust and dirt that is sometimes hard to see without the proper lighting. This is one of the reasons most professional cleaners prefer to do the cleaning during the beginning or middle of the day.
